Dean Wilson
Therapeutic Alternatives, Inc. 
Dean Wilson is a 3rd generation assisted living facility owner and operator. He became president of the association in 2015 and has worked with the leadership team to advocate for the Assisted Living Association, while helping the association expand its membership and education opportunities  throughout the state. 

Hugh Campbell
 Vice -President
Hedgehog Healthcare Associates, LLC
Hugh Campbell has served the association in many different roles since he joined. He now is one of our instructors for our Administrator in Training classes and has worked with several members of the leadership  team to advocate for the Assisted Living Industry. 

Susan Morris
Bethamy Center
Susan Morris has been secretary for the association for many years. She enjoys golfing in her free time and her team is usually one of the best in our Spring Golf Tournament.

Carlos Garcia
Brookstone Retirement Center, LLC
Carlos Garcia is the newly elected treasurer to the North Carolina Senior Living Association. He has overseen the annual Convention and Trade Show for the association for years and is excited to take on a new role.


Jeff Horton
Executive Director

Jeff Horton retired from NC state government in July 2017 after nearly 30 years of state service. He became the Executive Director of the Association in August of 2017.  He is a graduate of East Carolina University where he earned both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees and has worked over 33 years in the health care arena including work in the private and public sector as a direct care provider in both inpatient and outpatient settings. During his time in state government, he worked as a health care regulator and with the North Carolina Medicaid program. From his many years of experience working in the health and human services field, Jeff has a broad perspective and working knowledge of regulatory, Medicaid policy and reimbursement, aging and other issues affecting the assisted living industry.  

Beth Oakley
Education Manager

Beth joined NCSLA in April of 2016 as Education Manager responsible for the coordination of all continuing education programs and training. Beth has more than 30 years of experience in leadership, management, marketing and training and development. Among her recent positions, Beth served as Training and Development manager for Liberty Healthcare of North Carolina.  Prior to that, she worked as a Project Manager with the Duke Reading Center, serving as liaison with clinical research organizations in the area of ophthalmology. She also worked as Community Health Program Director for Prevent Blindness North Carolina, overseeing the administration of specific community health vision screening programs, fundraising events and community outreach.  A graduate of Peace College, Beth also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from UNC-Greensboro.  

Cheryl Wilson
 Executive Administrative Assistant and Office Manager
Cheryl Wilson has been with the association for 20 years! She knows the office from top to bottom and has seen many changes over the years. She enjoys spending time with her family and cheering on her hometown Philadelphia Eagles when she can.
