Candace Dufour, PharmD, attended Shenandoah University School of Pharmacy, in Winchester VA.  She is originally from the Southwestern part of VA. Candace joined the Southern Pharmacy team in 2010 and began her career working as a staff pharmacist.  In January 2023, she accepted the position of Director of Consulting Services.  Prior to working at Southern Pharmacy, she gained experience in Retail, and Long-Term Care pharmacy focusing on IV and Anticoagulant dosing.  Candace enjoys being a liaison between the pharmacy’s customer, and pharmacy departments, to allow Southern to find way to provide superior customer service.

Non-pharmacological interventions are approaches used to address residents’ physical, emotional, behavioral, and social needs without relying on medication. These interventions can be especially helpful for residents experiencing anxiety, agitation, confusion, loneliness, sleep difficulties, or changes in behavior. The goal is to understand what the resident may be communicating through their behavior and identify appropriate, person-centered ways to meet their needs.
